Prominent upper front teeth

# What is Ava's early proposal meant to finish?

The stated early goal is to reduce the forward prominence of Ava's upper front teeth\. Her clinician answers her question directly, and Ava and her parent name that same goal while keeping a later decision separate\.

Family education with clearly labelled fictional explanations\. Your treating clinicians explain your individual findings and care\.

## A named early goal, not a promised whole pathway

Continue Ava's original fictional conversation\. The recommendation is a supplied teaching premise, not a method for selecting a reader's care\. No appliance, regimen or result is supplied\.

**Clinician's finding\.** “Your upper front teeth project forward relative to the lower front teeth\. That is the prominence identified in our assessment\.”

**The early proposal's purpose\.** “I propose early work to reduce that forward prominence\. This names the change we are discussing now; it is not a promise that every alignment or bite question will be finished\.”

**The subject of a later decision\.** “If later comprehensive work is proposed, its separate objective would be the remaining tooth alignment and bite relationship described at that later assessment\. It would need its own explanation and decision\.”

The two objectives have clear subjects\. The early proposal addresses the identified forward prominence\. A later proposal, if made, would address what its later assessment actually identifies\. No later course, appliance or fee is automatically included by this example\.

## Ava gets a direct answer

**Ava asks\.** “Does doing this now finish all the work? I like my smile, and I want to understand what you are asking me to change\.”

**The clinician answers\.** “No\. The early goal is to reduce the forward prominence we identified\. It does not promise that every later alignment or bite question is settled\. We can discuss what matters to you while keeping that intended change clear; you do not have to dislike your appearance to understand the proposal\.”

The answer tells Ava what the proposed work is for before asking for a choice\. Her question is part of the conversation, not an obstacle or a test of cooperation\. Understanding an explanation does not itself mean agreeing to treatment\.

## Teen and parent can name the same goal

**Ava's reading\.** “The stated goal is to reduce the forward prominence of my upper front teeth\. That is what the early proposal addresses\. A later alignment or bite proposal would be a separate decision, with its own explanation\.”

**Ava's parent\.** “The proposed early change is to reduce the forward prominence of Ava's upper front teeth\. I can support her questions and keep the team's actual arrangements clear without assuming that early means every future decision has already been made\.”

Neither reading describes an achieved result\. The family understands the purpose positively and can distinguish the clinical decision from the [dated study comparison](</early-or-later-treatment>) \. Study\-group findings about injury incidence and final projection do not decide Ava's care\.

## Keep the explanation with the responsible team

A doctor\-led discussion can connect the named goal, the intended work and how the team will explain review\. Qualified planning views illustrate intentions; follow\-ups assess the actual course\. The [SMILE\-FX® care explanation](</about-this-guide#care-model-about>) describes these responsibilities within full\-service, aligner\-focused orthodontics\.

Current patients use their treating team's supplied contact route and individual directions\. A prospective family can use the [in\-person Miramar visit](</visit>) to discuss its own questions\. An educational example is not a personal instruction or a confirmed appointment\.
